هذا الكتاب هو في الأصل مجموعة محاضرات ألقيت على طلبة كلية الحقوق في جامعة عمان الأهلية في الفصل الصيفي من عام 1992 كانت هذه المحاضرات نواة الكتاب الذي تناول مصادر الالتزام أي مصادر الحق الشخصي وقد تحدث الكتاب في بابه التمهيدي عن الاتجاهات العامة للقانون المدني الأردني وأهمية دراسة نظرية الالتزام والحق المالي وكل من الحق الشخصي والحق العيني والتقسيم الحديث عن العقد وتناول فيه تقسيمات العقود أركانها ومراحل انعقاد العقد في الفقه الإسلامي وآثار العقد ثم تحدث عن التصرف الانفرادي وتناول فيه التصرف الانفرادي كمصدر عام للالتزام والوعد بجائزة الموجه للجمهور ثم طرح موضوع الفعل الضار وما يندرج تحته من الأحكام العامة للفعل الضار والمسئولية عن الأعمال الشخصية وأخيرا طرح موضوع الفعل النافع وما ينطوي تحته من كسب بلا سبب وقبض المستحق والفضالة وغيرها.
