كانت هذه التجربة التي حاولتها في هذا الكتاب (تصويبات لغوية) محاولة على درب لفت انتباه أبناء العربية إلى الصواب الذي ينبغي أن ينتهجوه في أدائهم اللغوي، وهو أداء تنتظمه مجموعة من فروع العربية، النحو والصرف والمعجم والإملاء، وتمثل الأخطاء التي أوردناها عبر هذا الكتاب رصدًا للواقع اللغوي الذي خطته أقلام الطلاب وسجلته أوراق إجاباتهم، بما يعني أنها جمل حية واقعية، شاهدة - بصدق وبلا رتوش - على الواقع اللغوي المعاصر لفئة يتصور أنهم الصفوة التي ارتقت في السلم التعليمي إلى ما قارب نهايته.
لقد قمت بجمع الكثير من أخطاء الطلاب، ولم أشـ أن أجعل هذه الدراسة دراسة تحليلية وصفية، وإنما جعلتها درسًا تقويميًا، ينطلق من الخطأ فيصوبه، ويرصد مع الصواب القانون المؤطر له والقاعدة الحاكمة فيه، فجاء برنامج هذا الكتاب على نحو جديد، أخذ شكل الاختبارات، حيث تنتظم كل اختبار عشر جمل مختارة، يبدأ الدارس بمحاولة إعادة قراءتها أو كتابتها، مع اختيار الإجابة الصحيحة، وفيها الصواب الذي نطمح أن يتعرف عليه الدارس بوعي منه ودربة عليه، بعيدًا عن التخمين الخادع أو الاتكالية المضللة.
وقد تنوعت القواعد بتنوع جمل الاختبارات، ما بين نحوية وصرفية ومعجمية وإملائية، وقد استخلصناها من الكثير من المصادر والمراجع، فجمعناها بعد تفرق، ويسرناها بعد صعوبة، وذللناها طيعة لمنشدي السلامة اللغوية والصحة التعبيرية.
