الزغاريد ملأت أصداؤها الفضاء الواسع الذي يحيط بالجبال، الموسيقى رافقت تلك الزغاريد، لتنشر في المكان أنشودة السعادة، التي ترافق الزواج، ترافق ميلاداً جديداً لحياة عرفت ميلاداً قديماً. صدى الموسيقى كان يسري في الجو كنسمات راقصة بين الظلام الذي غمر الجبال، وضوء القمر الذي احتضن قمم الجبال العالية، وتساءلت : كيف لهذا النور الضعيف، الخجول أن يُعطي انطباعاً بالدفء لهذه الصخور الخشنة، فتبدو لينة، حنونة تحت خيوط النور الضعيفة، أما هي فنور الحب لم يستطيع أن يحتض أحزانها، وأن يُبعثر الألم الذي عرفته مبكراً...
تلبس ثوب الزفاف الثمين، تلمسه بيدها الناعمة، وتشعر بجمال الخطوط الذهبية التي نقشت على القماش الأبيض شديد النعومة، كان ثوباً جميلاً، كأنه آتٍ من حلم يكتنفه الضباب، والسحر والغموض، نظرت لنفسها عبر المرآة، كانت جميلة وحزينة، والثوب يزيد من إشراق شبابها، وكلما لمحت ذلك الجمال الرائع الذي منحه إياه الله تعالى، ازداد الحزن في أعماقها، تحسست الثوب من جديد بأناملها، وتذكرت تلك الأيدي الدافئة المليئة بالحب التي أحاطت بجسدها في يومٍ بعيد . طالما حلمت بارتداء هذا الثوب الجميل ولقد كان هذا الثوب أجمل من حلمها، ولكن اليدين اللتين ستضمان جسدها هذه الليلة سوف تزرعان الغربة بينها وبين هذا الجسد الذي لم يعد ملكها منذ هذه اللحظة...
