رواية (الجنة الرمادية) كتبها السياسي والروائي الإيراني الدكتور عطاالله مهاجراني، ونقل الرواية من الفارسية إلى العربية مهدي فرطوسي. مهاجراني عرف بكونه مثقفا ومؤرخا وتسلم حقيبة وزارة الثقـافة في حكـومة محمد خاتمي "الإصلاحية".
الرواية تتحدث عن الأوضاع الداخلية في إيران، وعن "العمائم" التي تحكمها، مما يمثّل جزءًا من سيرة مهاجراني. يقول الكاتب والباحث الإيراني المقيم في لندن الدكتور حسن بشير (عطاالله مهاجراني السياسي والمفكر الذي لم يواته الزمان ليظهر شخصيته المختفية وراء عوالم مختلفة، كما نحسب، يلجأ أخيراً إلى عالم الرواية، ليرفع السـتار عما يخفيه في كل ما تكشـفه شخصيات الرواية وأحداثها، راسماً معالم هويته وأفكاره وأطروحاته. ولذلك يمكن اعتـبار رواياته سيراً ذاتية تعكس كل زوايا حياته بشـكل آخر يسهل أن يفهمــها الكثـير ممن يعيـش ويتنفـس أجـواءها المتماثلة)." حسن آل عامر "
