علام فرضت مسألة الضياع ذاتها على الفكر الانساني بشكل ملح في النصف الثاني من القرن العشرين في حين ان ظاهرة الضياع قديمة قدم الانسان على ما يبدو، وأن كارل ماركس الذي كان أول من انتبه الى خطورة المشكلة اقترح حلاً لها في أواسط القرن الفائت؟ ألأن فقدان الانسان ذاته جزئياً - الفقدان الكلي هو الجنون - قد زاد في مرحلة الحضارة الصناعية التي كتب في اطارها كارل ماركس؟ على الارجح. المؤكد هو أن مجالات الضياع تعددت وربما أن أسبابه تبدلت. فكان ماركس يرى الضياع في سيرورة أو حركة الاقتصاد الرأسمالي حيث يسطو الرأسمالي على شخصية العامل عندما يستلب فائض القيمة الذي هو ثمره عمله. والعمل عند ماركس هو جوهر الانسان بينما يرى فرانسوا بيرو الذي يكتب في اطار الحضارة التكنولوجية المبرمجة ان الدولة هي التي ببيروقراطيتها العملاقة تفترس شخصية الانسان اي انسان. ويبدو لي انه لو كتب فرانسوا بيرو أو كارل ماركس أو غيرهما من منطلق العالم الغير مصنع أو المتأخر لوجد للضياع أسباباً أخرى. قد نخالف فرانسوا بيرو الرأي ولكن لا يمكننا الا ان نعترف بدقة ملاحظته وعمق نظرياته.
