يبدو اننا بدانا - على المستوى الفكري والنظري - مرحلة من المراجعة النقدية لمفاهيمنا ومواقفنا التقليدية ، ويبدو أن كثافة التحولات التى شهدتها منطقتنا في العقود الأخيرة كانت حافزا أساسيا في هذا الاتجاه، ومن ناحية أخرى حدث داخل العلوم الاجتماعية نفسها ( كمجال معرفي) ان مرت مرحلة كافية من الاعتماد على النظريات الجاهزة بحيث تجمع لدى باحثينا عبر الممارسة عدد من الملاحظات النقدية ، واغلب ما أطرحه هو مجرد نتائج لا يتسع المجال للأسف لتسجيل حيثياتها كلها، فلست بصدد عرض نظرية متكاملة، وغاية ما أطمح إليه في هذا البحث هو تعميق إدراكنا لخطورة التبعية في مجال العلوم الاجتماعية نظرا لما تحمله في مفاهيمها وأسسها من تحيز وإرساء قبول مبدئي بمشروعية الاستقلال النظري في هذا المجال.
