لدى إصدار الطبعة الأولى من الكتاب الماثل كنت قد وضعت له عنواناً هو "حقوق المتهم في العدالة الجنائية"، ولكنني رأيت عند إعداد الطبعة الثانية أن أعدل عن هذه التسمية إلى "العدالة وحقوق الإنسان" لأن هذا العنوان هو ما يتفق أكثر مع مضمونه، وعلى ذلك فالكتاب الذي أقدمه اليوم من موسوعة حقوق الإنسان يتناول وثائق حقوق الإنسان المتعلقة بالعدالة وقد رأيت أن أقسمه إلى أجزاء ستة هي:ـ (الجزء الأول: مبادئ عامة ودور بعض المؤسسات، الجزء الثاني: مكافحة الجرائم، الجزء الثالث: عقوبة الإعدام والحق في العدل، الجزء الرابع: حقوق المساجن والمحتجزين والمشتبه فيهم، الجزء الخامس: استخراج الجثث وتشريحها وتحليلها، الجزء السادس: دليل المحاكمات العادلة).
