يبحث هذا الكتاب في فن التعبير والكتابة الإنشائية, وهو لايعطي الطالب موضوعا كاملا ليقرأه, كما هو الحال في أكثر كتب التعبير, وإنما يقدم له ألفاظا ويزوده بجمل تعينه على أن يعبر عما يجول في ذهنه وترشده إلى تلك إنشاء تلك الجمل المناسبة للموضوع المراد التعبير عنه. ويعتمد على طريقة الألفاظ والجمل التي تنزع من نفس الطالب الرهبة والخوف أثناء التعبير عن شيء معين. ويورد الكتاب بعض المواضيع تحت عنوان موضوع نموذجي ليري الطالب كيف يعالج الموضوعو كيف يتصدى لكل عنصر من عناصره ويوفيه حقه. ويقوم المخطط العام للكتاب على الركائز التالية: الركيزة الأولى وتنقسم إلى: عرض الموضوع, إثبات عناصره, وشرح العناصر تحت عنوان مفردات وجمل. والركيزة الثانية تقوم على الأقوال التي جادت بها قرائح العلماء والحكماء والأدباء, وقد وضعت تحت عنوانين الأول أقوال وشعر وحكم, والثاني من ثمرات الأقوال. والركيزة الثالثة تقوم على نصوص تحت عنوان المطالعة الحرة, وهي نماذج تماثل الموضوع المطروح وتنسجم معه, وهي تعود الطالب على المطالعة وتمده بعناصر جديدة تساعده على تثقيف لسانه و تكوين ملكة الإنشاء لديه.
