القلقشندي (756 - 821 هـ = 1355 - 1418 م)
أحمد بن علي بن أحمد الفزاري القلقشندي ثم القاهري: المؤرخ الأديب البحاثة.
ولد في قلقشندة (من قرى القليوبية، بقرب القاهرة، سماها ياقوت قرقشندة) ونشأ وناب في الحكم وتوفي في القاهرة.
وهو من دار علم، وفي أبنائه وأجداده علماء أجلاء.
أفضل تصانيفه (صبح الأعشى في قوانين الإنشا - ط) أربعة عشر مجلدا، في فنون كثيرة من التاريخ والأدب ووصف البلدان والممالك، وله (حلية الفضل وزينة الكرم في المفاخرة بين السيف والقلم - خ) و (قلائد الجمان في التعريف بقبائل عرب الزمان - ط) و (ضوء الصبح المسفر - ظ) مختصر صبح الأعشى، و (نهاية الأرب في معرفة أنساب العرب - ط)
