كان الهدف الأساسي من إعداد كتاب "تعليم التفكير": مفاهيم وتطبيقات مخاطبة الكوادر التعليمية والإدارية ومتخذي القرار في مؤسسات التعليم العام والجامعي، وتوجيه أنظارهم إلى القضية المنسية في مناهجنا ومدارسنا وجامعاتنا... إنها مسؤولية توجيه التعليم لتنمية مهارات التفكير والإبداع لدى الطلبة، وقد تجمع لدى المؤلف ما يكفي من الأدلة المكتوبة على أن هذا الهدف قد تحقق بدرجة فاقت التوقعات.

-الفصل الحادي عشر: مهارات التفكير فوق المعرفية والأخير وحدة تعليمية اثرائية حول المنحى التكاملي في تعليم المحتوى.
