هذه هي الطبعة السادسة من كتاب "شرح أحكام قانون العمل" لأستاذنا العالم الجليل الدكتور محمد لبيب شنب, شرفت بتنقيحها وفقًا لأحكام قانون العمل الجديد رقم 12 لسنة 2003, وقد استغرقت عملية التنقيح عامًا كاملًا أو يزيد, ولا شك أن رحلتي في هذا التنقيح كانت عملية محفوفة بالمخاطر والصعاب, فمن أصعب الأمور أن تنقح كتابًا عظيمًا لعالم عظيم, فهذا الكتاب صدرت طبعته الأولى من أوائل الستينات, وتوالت طبعاته الواحدة تلو الأخرى.
أما المؤلف فهو الأستاذ الدكتور محمد لبيب شنب أستاذ القانون المدني بكلية الحقوق جامعة عين شمس وعميدها الأسبق, وأحد أعمدة القانون المدني في مصر والبلاد العربية. هذا هو الكتاب وهذا هو المؤلف, وليتخيل القارئ الكريم حجم المهمة التي شرفت بها؟ ومخاطرها؟ وصعابها؟
وقد كان عملي في تنقيح الكتاب كالتالي: راعيت الاحتفاظ بترقيم البنود كما كانت, حرصت على التمييز بين أصل الكتاب وبين الإضافات, أما على الصعيد التشريعي قمت بتنقيح الكتاب وفقًا لأحكام قانون العمل الجديد رقم 12 لسنة 2003, وعلى الصعيد الفقهي قمت بالرجوع إلى كافة ما كتب في ظل قانون العمل سواء في المؤلفات العامة أو المتخصصة, وأخيرًا على الصعيد القضائي وتتبعت كافة أحكام محكمة النقض بشأن قانون العمل حتى عام 2009.
