Book Description
Est l’un des plus illustres universitaires tunisiens. Il a enseigné entre 1962 et 1996 à l’université tunisienne. Il a été Professeur visiteur à plusieurs universités françaises, américaines et canadiennes. Il est eminent penseur et historien dont les ouvrages on suscité un débat académique et public en Tunisie, dans la monde arabe et en Europe.
Les écrits de Djait sont de deux sortes: les études historiques qui ont traité les plus importants aspects de l’Islam pendant la période matricielle comme la foundation de la ville islamique, la grande discorde et la vie de Muhammad, et des études de pensée qui se sont intéressées à l’Islam actuel en mettant l’accent sur les différentes crises du monde arabo-islamique, en rapport avec l’Occident et tout ce qu’il a suscité au niveau intllectuel, technique et technologique.
Djait ne s’est pas contenté de écrits académiques spécialisés, mais il a écrit beaucoup d’articles d’opinion sur des problèmes politiques actuels et historiques adressés pour un public averti mais pas spécialisé. Ces articles sont parus dans beaucoup des revues et journaux arabes et françaises don’t notamment le Débat, Diogène et al- Yawm al- Sâbaá.
