كذلك يتم تناول نفوذ الشركات عبر الوطنية من خلال التعرف على إستراتيجيات الشركات وتوضيح طبيعة العلاقة القائمة بين الشركات والمتغيرات العالمية في الأسواق المالية، والثورة الجذرية في عالم العمل والإستثمار الأجنبي المباشر، ومعرفة أين هي الشركات عبر الوطنية من المجابهة الضريبية والإتجاهات الحمائية، وتحول القوة الإقتصادية إلى ميزة سياسية غير متساوية، وتحول السلطة من أيدي الجمهور إلى المؤسسات التجارية، والتطرق إلى إشكالية ما يعرف بضعف الدولة في ظل العولمة من خلال دراسة التدخل السياسي للشركات عبر الوطنية، وتسليط الأضواء على النسق الدولي الجديد في العلاقات الدولية.
تكمن الصعوبة في بحث كهذا يتناول ظاهرة من ظواهر العلاقات الدولية - هذه العلاقات التي لا تخضع في آخر الأمر إلا لقانون المصالح - في القدرة على وضع العواطف والقناعات في منزلة هامشية وأن ندع وراء أذهاننا معتقداتنا الشخصية أو قناعاتنا الأيديولوجية، من أجل الوصول إلى حقائق الأمور وفهم الواقع وإغتنام الفرص السانحة لخدمة مصالحنا.
لذلك تناول المؤلف ظاهرة الشركات عبر الوطنية في سياق الواقع الإقتصادي العالمي بوصفها من اللاعبين الرئيسيين في الإقتصاد العالمي وإحدى تجليات العولمة، فالنشاط الإقتصادي العابر للوطنيات الذي تقوم به هذه الشركات هو تعبير عن جوهر العولمة الليبرالية.
