"كتب إلى سعيد أبو النحس المتشائل قال... أما بعد، فقد اختفيت ولكنني لم أمت، ما قتلت على حدود كما توهم ناس منكم، وما انضممت إلى فدائيين كما توجس عارفو فضلى ولا أنا أتعفن منسياً في زنزانة كما تقول أصحابك، صبراً صبراً، ولا تتساءل: من هو سعيد أبو النحس المتشائل هذا؟ لم ينبه في حياته فكيف ننبه له؟ إنني أدرك حطتي، وإنني لست زعيماً فيحس بي الزعماء، ولكن يا محترم، أنا هو الندل، ألم تضحك من الأضحوكة الإسرائيلية من السبع الذي تسرب إلى مكاتب اللجنة التنفيذية؟ ففي اليوم الأول افترس مدير التنظيم النقابي، فلم ينته زملاؤه، وفي اليوم الثاني افترس مدير الدائرة العربية فلم يفتقده الباقون، فظل السبع يخرج مطمئناً ويفترس مريئاً حتى أتى على ندل السفرة، فامسكوه... فكيف تزعم أنك لم تسمع بي؟ أني إنسان فذ، فلا تستطيع صحيفة ذات إطلاع، وذات مصادر، وذات إعلانات، وذات ذوات، وذات قرون، أن تهملني، أن معشري يملئون البيدر والدسكرة والمخمرة. أنا الآخرون، أنا فذاً بأسلوب نقدي ساخر يصور اميل حبيبي الوضع الفلسطيني الذي ما زال ورغم دخول العقد الخامس في أزمته من غير حل حاسم، إنه واقع جسدته شخصية المتشائل التي يجمع اسمها المتشائم والمتفائل هي خليط من عناصر موجودة في الخرافة ومقامات الحريري، وكافكا ودوماس، ووالت ديزني، أحداثها مزيج في الهزل السياسي التهريجي والقصص العلمي والمغامرة والنبوءة التوراتية.
