هذه البحوث المجموعة في مجلدات ثلاثة، والمهداة إلى روح المغفور له العالم الجليل الأستاذ الدكتور عز الدين إسماعيل كانت في الأصل أعمالًا مقدمة إلى المؤتمر الدولي الرابع للنقد الأدبي، الذي عقد في القاهرة في نوفمبر في عام 2006، وكان عنوانه "البلاغة والدراسات البلاغية" وهو المؤتمر الذي أشرف عليه عز الدين إسماعيل من بداياته، حتى انتهاء أعماله، وقد عقدنا العزم بعد انعقاد هذا المؤتمر المهم أن نخرج البحوث التي قدمت إليه في طبعة لائقة.
تحركت البحوث المقدمة في هذه المجلدات الثلاثة من المفاهيم البلاغية الأساسية، إلى الاستشراقات البلاغية الجديدة في الخطابات الأدبية والفنية والإنسانية المختلفة، عالج المجلد الأول من أعمال المؤتمر عددًا من "مفاهيم البلاغة" من وجهات نظر متعددة، ووفر المجلد الثاني "البلاغة التطبيقية قراءة النص الأدبي من منظور بلاغي" فهمًا واستيعابًا مناسبين للمفاهيم البلاغية، تطبيقًا على النص الأدبي، وقدمت بحوث المجلد الثالث "البلاغة في الخطابات المختلفة" رؤى بلاغية تنظيرية وتطبيقية أصيلة، من خلال خبرات بحثية مختلفة، وتناولات بينية متعددة الاختصاص من منظورات نقدية غير مسبوقة في البلاغة المعاصرة.
