لَمْ يُجْمِعْ أَعْلامُ اللُّغَةِ وَالأدَبِ قَدِيماً وَحَدِيثاً على أسبقيَّةِ كتابٍ وعظيم نفعه، كما أجمعوا على هذا الكتاب.
فكما لا يستغني أديبٌ ولا كاتبٌ ولا تلميذٌ عَنِ (القَلَمِ والورقةِ)، وكما لا تخلو مكتبةُ عامةٌ أو خاصَّةٌ مِنْ (مُعْجَمٍ).
كَذَلِكَ هذا الكتابُ (الألفاظُ الكتابيَّةُ) لا يستغنى عنه، لأنَّهُ زاد الكُتَّابِ والأدَباءِ، وَمُرْشِدُ المُعَلِّمين والمُتعلِّمين وَغَيْرِهِمْ، يَجِدُونَ فِيهِ مَا يَتَغَلَّبُونَ بِهِ عَلَى صُعُوبَةِ "التَّعْبِيرِ"، فَهُوَ يُزَوِّدُهُمْ جَمِيعاً بِالمُفْرَدَاتِ والتّعْبيراتِ الَّتي يَحْتَاجُونَها في شَتَّى شُؤُونِ حَياتِهِمْ، وَسَيَجِدونَهُ - إِنْ شَاءَ الله تعالى - صَاحِباً لا يُمَلُّ، وَصَديقاً مُسْعِفاً، وَمُرْشِداً نَصُوحاً.
