لكل عصر متطلباته، والقرآن الكريم يفسر بعضه بعضاً، وهو كلٌّ لا يتجزأ، يشكل بمجموعه النور والكلام المبين، والقرآن الكريم كلام الله عزّ وجلّ وفيض من علمه اللامتناهي، وكلامه مظهر لعلمه، وكلها لا متناهية؛ لذا ليس في إستطاعة البشر إدراك جميع أبعاد القرآن الكريم، فالكأس لا يسع البحر.
ورسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال عن كتاب الله العزيز: لا تحصى عجائبه، ولا تبلى غرائبه، وهنا تبرز أهمية تلبية الحاجات المستجدة ومخاطبة الجبل الجديد بلغة عصره، والخطوة الأولى لتلبية هذه الحاجات إعادة كتابة التراث العلمي والفكري الإسلامي بلغة هذا العصر؛ والخطوة الأخرى إستنباط الإحتياجات والمتطلبات الخاصة بهذا الزمان من مبادئ الإسلام العامة... وهذا التفسير دوّن على أساس هذين الهدفين...
خصائص هذا التفسير: 1-لما كان القرآن الكريم حياة فالتركيز على المسائل الحيوية المادية والمعنوية وخاصة الإجتماعية كان الهدف في التفسير، 2-بحث المسائل المطروحة في كل آية كالربا والرق، وحقوق المرأة، وفلسفة الحج، وأسرار تحريم القمار، والخمر، ولحم الخنزير، وكمسائل الجهاد الإسلامي، 3-إيضاح معاني الكلمات وأسباب النزول مما له تأثير في الفهم الدقيق لمعنى الآية، 4-عرض الشهبات حول أصول الإسلام وفروعه بمناسبة كل آية، والجوانب عليها بإختصار، مثل شبهة الآكل والمأكول، والحروف المقطعة في القرآن الكريم، ونسخ الأحكام، والإختبارات الإلهية، وعشرات المسائل الأخرى، لبيان ما يشكل عند مطالعة تفسير الآيات، 5-عدم إستعمال المصطلحات العلمية المعقدة.
