نقرأ في هذا الكتاب ترجمة عربية كاملة لغوليات شمس الدين محمد (1320- 1389م) الغالب عليه اسم (حافظ الشيرازي). نقع فيه على أشعار مووضعها العشق الإلهي بكل ما ورد عن الشاعر وما امتاز به شعره من الرقة والعذزبو والجمال، في الألفاظ والصور والمعاني المرهفة والنبيلة.
ولأهمية هذا الأثر الشعري ومؤلفه عمل الدكتور علي عباس وليخة، إلى شرحه بما يحتويه من غزليات وكنوز عرفانية مخبأة بين سطوره مترجماً مقبوساته من الأصل الفارسي، كما أدرج أبيات نظمها الشاعر بالعربية بنفسه، رغبة منه في إظهار هذا الكنز الشعري الجميل، ليقدمه إلى القارئ العربي بأبهى حلة، وبما يليق بالشاعر ومكانته.
وفي الكتاب غزليات شكلت (495) مقطعاً شعرياً، وقد ذيلت بقبسات (من رباعيات حافظ الشيرازي) نقرأ منها: "صف جسدي حتى بدا منه قلبه، وشفَ إلى أن بان ما فيه من سرَ/ فغيَب سرَ القلب قلبي وقالبي، كما غاب لون الماء والكأس في الخمر".
وعليه يكون (ديوان حافظ الشيرازي) من كنوز الشعر الفارسي القديم لشاعرٍ ذاع صيته بين البلدان، وسحر به أهل الشرق وترنمت بأشعاره الندمان.
