هذا الكتاب يقدم للطلبة المعلمين الفائدة والمتعة، ويعينهم على تقديم أفضل الطرائق في تدريس اللغة العربية.
وراعى في تأليف فصول الكتاب أن يكون البناء متناسقاً، فكل فصل يحتوي عدداً من الموضوعات الضرورية لإقامة بناءه، متدرجاً نحو التحقيق المفهوم الواضح الشامل.
وقد تقاسمت الكتاب الفصول الآتية:
الفصل الأول: وتضمن نشأة اللغة واشتقاقها وتعريفها، ووظائفها، وألم بالنمو اللّغوي عند الطفل.
وتناول الفصل الثاني اللغة العربية وأهميتها، وأهدافها وعلاقتها بمعلم الصف، والغرض من تدريسها في المرحلة الأساسية.
وخُصص الفصل الثالث للتحدث عن مهارة القراءة ومفهومها، وأهدافها ووظائفها وطرائق تدريسها.
وعُني الفصل الرابع بمهارة الإستماع وأهميتها وأنواعها والعلاقة بينها وبين الإستيعاب، وخطوات تدريسها.
وتخصص الفصل الخامس بدراسة مهارة التعبير وأهدافها وأنواعها من حيث الأداء ومن حيث الغرض وطرائق تدريسها.
وجاء الفصل السادس ليتناول مفهوم الإملاء وأنواعه والشروط التي تتوافر في قطعة الإملاء، وطرائق تدريسها.
أما الفصل السابع فكان لموضوع القواعد النحوية وأهدافها ومراحل تدريسها في المراحل الدراسية المختلفة.
وتناولت الفصول الثلاثة اللاحقة (الثامن، التاسع، العاشر) موضوعات الأناشيد والمحفوظات وطرائق تدريسها وكذلك القصة والمسرحية وأهميتها في المرحلة الأساسية، والخط ومكانته في التعليم، ومعايير الحكم على جودة الخط، وذكّر الفصل الحادي عشر بطرائق تدريس الدراسات الأدبية (النصوص الأدبية، وتاريخ الأدب، والبلاغة) بأسلوب شائق وبخطوات منهجية منظمة.
واختُتم الكتاب بالفصل الثاني عشر الذي اهتم بدراسة أساليب التقويم اللّغوي، وتتضمن التعريف بالتقويم وأهميته وأهداف التقويم في اللغة العربية ومجالاته، ومما تميز به هذا الفصل بيان أدوات التقويم إستراتيجياته الحديثة في مجال اللغة العربية.
