أحمد عثمان، (8 يوليو 1907 - 13 نوفمبر 1970م )، نحات وكاتب وباحث في علم المصريات ولد بمحافظة أسوان. التحق بمدرسة الفنون والزخارف المصرية عام 1923م وبعد تخرجه عام 1927م عين مسجلاً للحفريات الاثرية في فلسطين، ثم سافر إلى إيطاليا في بعثة، وحصل على الدكتوراه في النحت.

لقد كانت ظروف لقائي بأديبنا العظيم يحيى حقي الذي تصادف حديثي معه ليلة سفره الأخير للعلاج في فرنسا قبل وفاتهما جعلني أتمسك بمواصلة عملي الذي أصبح دافعي له يزداد كلما فقدنا عَلَمًا من أعلامنا، علنا نهتدي بالمنارة في داخل كل منهم والمتبقية وإن رحل الجسد. ولعل جهدي المتواضع هذا يجسد حاجة جيلي الملحة في التواصل الإيجابي، ليس فقط بجيل الآباء، ولكن بكل ما يمنحنا هوية نبحث فيها عن ثوابت قِيَمنا نحقق به إضافة لرصيد هذا الوطن العظيم.. موقنًا بأن أفضل ما وصل إليه جيل الآباء هو نقطة الانطلاق الحقيقية لجيلنا.
وبعد.. عزيزي القارئ، فلن يُسعد قلبي، ويزيل عني عناء العمل إلا شعوري بأنني نجحت بحقن القراء ببعض عوامل ومقومات النجاح والتفوق المُستمدة من العظماء من جيل الآباء. تُرى هل نجحت؟ سؤال أنتظر إجابته منك!!!
