لقد صدر قانون التجارة الجديد رقم 17 لسنة 1999 والذى نظم الشيك تنظيماً كاملاً لأول مرة. وكان لزاماً علينا أن نقوم بشرح جرائم الشيك فى ضوء التعديلات الجديدة فى قانون التجارة. وحاولنا بقدر الإمكان أن يصدر الكتاب الماثل شاملاً لغالبية الجوانب الفقهية والقضائية.
ولا شك أن لاستعمال الشيكات مزايا عدة، فهو يؤدى بفضل الحسابات الجارية إلى زيادة النقود التى تعتمد عليها مؤسسات الائتمان، ويسهل على المودعين فى الوقت ذاته تثمير أموالهم.

الباب الخامس: أحكام العقوبات المقررة فى جرائم الشيك.
الباب السادس: أحكام الدفوع فى الشيك.
الباب السابع: مشكلات شيك الضمان.
على ان نعرض فى البداية لفصل تمهيدى يتناول أهم التعديلات والتطورات التى تناولت موضوع البحث حتى نهاية سبتمبر لسنة 2007 . وفى ختام المؤلف نعرض للتشريع المرتبطة بموضوع الشيكات.
