و"الاقتصاد" كتاب يلمُّ في أبوابه وأقطابه وأبحاثه بأصول العقيدة وأدلتها وبراهينها، لا كما يظن البعض أنه مقتصر على الزبد والخلاصات، بل هو بعيد عن الحشو والتطويل ليس غير.
وكم تشكّى أهل العلم من طبعات "الاقتصاد"، وهم مع ذلك يلازمون إقراءه وتدريسه والرجوع إليه، لما للكتاب من تحرير وتقرير قل نظيره.
وطبعتنا اليوم تنتعش بأريج مخطوطة في غاية النفاسة، تبعد عن وفاة الغزالي عد الأصابع، لم يحقق الكتاب من لم يقف عليها، نرجو من العلي القدير أن نكون قد قدمناه وفيه شفاء للناس من علل لطالما تأذوا منها، وليس عن الكتاب محيد.
