في الجزء الثاني من "ديوان الإمام الحسين" يواصل الشيخ محمد صادق محمد الكرباس عرض الأبيات والأشعار المنسوبة للإمام الحسين عليه السلام مناقشاً بشكل موضوعي صحة نسبتها من عدمها إليه عليه السلام، مبيناً ذلك من خلال إظهار مكامن الخلل في الأشعار، سواء كانت عروضية أو بلاغية أو لغوية، أو من حيث المعنى والمضمون، ليخلص بنفي نسبة بعضها إليه، وإمكانية نسبة بعضها الآخر إليه.
كما ذكر المؤلف أوزان الأشعار وعروضها، ثم إعراب الأبيات بشكل مفصل، ثم قام بشرح مفرداتها لغوياً بشكل مسهب وواضح، إضافة إلى إيراد ابيات من الشعر تشابهها في المعنى والقصد لشعراء آخرين، ولم يفته ذكر المصادر التي أوردتها موضحاً الإختلافات في مفردات هذه الأشعار من مصدر إلى آخر.
من أشعار ديوان الإمام الحسين وتحت عنوان (التقوى) نقرأ: "وإن صافيت أو خاللت خلا... في الرحمان فاجعل من تُؤاخ"... "ولا تعدل بتقوى الله شيئاً... ودع عنك الضلالة والتراخ"... "فكيف تنال في الدنيا سروراً... وأيام الحياة إلى إنسلاخ"...
