"اسمها... "زهراء بنت السيد محمود ابن السيد محسن الطباطبائي"... كانت بالكاد قد تجاوزت العشرين ربيعاً عندما وضعت قدمها على سلم الباخرة التي ستبحر بها من ميناء البصرة إلى فرضة المنامة.
أخذت قراراً شجاعاً بالمغادرة مع زوجها إلى مدينة لا تعرفها، قرارٌ كان "عِجْبةٌ" في عرف أهلها في النجف، ولكنها رأته "عينَ العقل" عند من يزنُ الأمور بمنطق الحياة.
علّمت نفسها الكتابة على أمل أن تطوي فراق الجغرافيا الفاصلة بينها وبين زوجها، بين النجف والمنامة، ولكن الكتابة بدل أن تُسكّن شوقها، صارت تُشعله، فاض بها الحنين، شعرت أن في البعد عن "الحاج محمد" غربة لقلبها، وإن كانت في وطنها وبين أهلها، قررت سريعاً أن تكسر الغربة بالغربة".
