يشكل هذا الكتاب قراءة الكاتب عمر شبلي في قصيدة "يوم الأحد الواقع فيه صمتي" للشاعر محمد علي شمس الدين، وهي مهداة إلى أبي حامد الغزالي في محنته" وفيها يقول: "ماذا بيدي؟ / ماذا أفعل؟ / هل يومي بيدي؟ / وغدي ..؟ / يومياتي نافلةً وقديمة / لكنْ / من خولني / أن افصلَ / بين اللحظات المعدومة / واللا معدومة / ما دامت أيامي هلكى (...)". في قراءته القصيدة يقول عمر شبلي: هذه القصيدة الرؤيوية تتعامل مع بروق اليقين التي آنسها الشاعر محمد علي شمس الدين وهو يسير في فلوات شكه المترامية ، وهي رحلة مجتهدة وصعبة، كان الشك فيها يزجي الروح بقسوة، وكانت ظلمات وحواجز، وكان برق يخطف روحه إلى حيث لا يدع له مجالاً لهيأةٍ في هذا السفر البعيد ...".
