في هذا الكتاب يتحدث الفاتح كامل عن مسيرة حياة والده العالِم "كامل إبراهيم لطفي" واحد من كبار علماء السودان في مجال التربية والتعليم والإدارة. ويستعرض خلاله شهادات من عاصره من سياسيين وعلماء وأدباء ومنهم الفريق عبد الماجد حامد خليل الذي أشاد بدوره من أعمال منوهاً بأبنائه البررة الذين يقومون بأعمال الخير، وشهادة "محمود عبد الله عطية" / الإدارة الأسبق بشركة أركاس السعودية وعنه يقول: "كان المرحوم حجر الزاوية في حل الكثير من المشاكل التي تعرضت لها بطون وأفخاذ الأسرة المتسعة والمتشعبة الشئون" أما الدكتور إبراهيم كامل لطفي، فيعتبره "السبب المباشر لدخولي وحبي كلية الطب والإستمرار في هذا المجال ..."، وشهادة أخرى للمخرج التلفزيوني ورجل الأعمال منتصر فتحي الطاهر الدرديري يقول فيها: "كان خلقه القرآن وأقول ذلك مقتبساً لمن جهز قبره قبل ميعاده وأفنى زهرة شبابه لغيره بلا أنا ...".
وفي الكتاب أيضاً يورد المؤلف "شجرة عائلة كامل إبراهيم لطفي" التي تعتبر من أعرق العائلات بحي العمدة ومن قبل بحي العرب أحد أقدم أحياء مدينة أم درمان العاصمة الوطنية للدولة السودانية وحيث لا يزال منزل العائلة موجوداً حتى اليوم.
ويختتم الكتاب بملاحق وفيها شهادات العالم لطفي وأعماله الأدبية والتراثية وتحقيقات لكتب دينية، وخطابات وصور تؤرخ لسيرة حياته المهنية والأسرية.
