رباعيات الخيام-منظومة فارسية لها شهرتها العالمية، ترجمت إلى معظم اللغات ونشرت منها ومن ترجماتها ملايين النسخ في الشرق والغرب!
نسبت هذه الرباعيات المليئة بالتناقضات إلى الحكيم عمر الخيام النيسابوري الذي عرف في عصره وبين أقرانه حجة للحق قبل أن يكون شاعراً، الأمر الذي يجعلنا نحتار في أمر الخيام بين النقيضين: شكه ويقينه، وكفره ودينه، فلا بد إذن، من كلمة حاسمة في تلك الرباعيات وتاريخها للكشف عن الحقيقة... هل هي للحكيم الخيام أم موضوعة؟ سؤال يرد عليه ويكشف عن وجه الحقيقة، هذا الكتاب الذي قام بتأليفه عالم كبير من أبناء اللغة الفارسية.
وقد اتخذ المؤلف في بحثه نهجاً علمياً اتبع من تنفيذه الأصول الآتية:
الأول: معرفة شخصية الحكيم عمر الخيام (أو الخيامي) النيسابوري وتعيين مذهبه الحقيقي عن طريق معاصريه العظماء الذين عرفوه عن كثب وعرفوه للناس عن علم مرموق ومعرفة تامة.
الثاني: ترجيح أقوال المعاصرين على أقوال غيرهم من المؤرخين الذين عرفوه عن بعد وعرفوه للناس عن بعد (فليس السامع كالرائي) وذلك عند وجود أي تناقض بينهما.
الثالث: معرفته بهذين الأصلين مع معرفته عن طريق آثاره ومقولاته الصحيحة التي ثبتت عنه لا عن طريق الرباعيات التي لم تثبت عنه حيث لا سند في ذلك ولا دليل في نسبتها.
الرابع: تطبيق تلك الرباعيات على ما ثبت من آثاره ومقولاته التي تعين مذهبه الحقيقي ليظهر ما يمكن أن يكون منه ويختفي ما لا يمكن أن يكون منه.
