أشار المؤلف في هذا الكتاب إلى مساكن قبيلة طيء وديارها القديمة، وعرف عن عشائر قبيلة طيء قبل الإسلام، فضلاً عن ديانتها، وكيفية دخولها في الإسلام.
جمع دواوين الشعراء الطائيين ودرسهم دراسات فنية تحليلية، حيث يمثل كتابه هذا دراسة لسيرة عشرة شعراء طائيين، لا يعرف الدارسون عن أكثرهم إلا النزر اليسير، وكذلك صنع ديواناً لكل واحد منهم، وأدخل في الديوان ما جمعه السيد عبد الأمير الطائي من شعرهم، وذلك لكي يطلع القارئ على الديوان مجموعاً في مكان واحد بدلاً من التشتت والبحث في أماكن عدة، وسوف يكون تسلسل الشعراء حسب الحروف الهجائية، حيث بدأ بذكر سيرة الشاعر أولاً، وبعد ذلك يأتي ديوان شعره فالهوامش، فمصادر البحث، وبذلك يكون ديوان كل شاعر وحدة متكاملة مستقلة عن غيرها، والشعراء هم كما يأتي: 1-أنيف بن حكيم النبهاني ثم الطائي، 2-أوس بن حارثة بن لأم الطائي، 3-البرج بن مسهر الطائي، 4-بشر بن عليق الطائي، 5-حنطلة بن أبي غفر المعروف بالراهب الطائي، 6-عامر بن جوين الطائي، 7-عدي بن عمرو المعروف بالأعرج الطائي، 8-عمرو بن عمار الطائي، 9-عمرو بن ملقط الطائي، 10-أبو قردودة الطائي.
طيء هي إحدى قبائل العرب، قحطانية يمنية الأصل، سكنت شمال الجزيرة العربية. أحد أشهر أبنائها هو حاتم الطائي الذي تضرب العرب المثل فيه بالكرم والسخاء. تنتشر طيء اليوم في الجزيرة العربية ومصر وفلسطين وسوريا والعراق، ومنها ظهرت العديد من البطون والأفخاذ والقبائل الأخرى، كقبيلة شمر بالعراق وسوريا والجزيرة العربية، وبنو الحسن بالأردن وفلسطين والعراق ومصر، والخزاعلة بالعراق ومصر وسنبس أو السنابسة بمصر والعراق و غيرهما، و غير تلك البطون كثير.
