أصبح كتاب أساسيات الاستثمار، الذي هو بين يديك، حقيقة واقعة، ولعل أهم ما يميزه، أنه وأن كان قد اهتم بأساسيات الاستثمار كما عرفها طلاب الإدارة المالية في مشارق الارض ومغاريها، إلا انه لم يتجاهل ما يجرى في الاسواق العربية، حيث وجدت لها مكان كلما سنحت الفرصة.
أما الكتاب ذاته فيتضمن سبعة أبواب، الباب الأول ويعرض لأدوات الاستثمار المباشرة المتمثلة في الاسهم والسندات، وأدوات الاستثمار غير المباشر المتمثلة في وحدات أو وثائق صناديق الاستثمار، وفي الباب الثاني كان الموعد مع الاسواق التي تتداول فيها تلك الادوات.
وبالانتهاء من تناول أدوات الاستثمار والاسواق التي تتداول فيها، يصبح من الضرورى التعرض لسبل تحليل الاوراق المالية، وهو ما خصص له الباب الثالث الذي يعني بالتحليل الفني، إلي جانب التحليل الاساسي، ومن الطبيعي ان يأتي بعد تحليل الاوراق المالية، اسس تقييم الاستثمار في تلك الاوراق، والذي تم تغطيته في الباب الرابع، الذي يلقي الضوء علي محددات القيمة السوقية للورقة المالية، ونظرية المحفظة، التي هي مقدمة لا غني عنها لتناول نموذج تسعير الاصول الرأسمالية.
ثم يأتي تقييم الورقة المالية ذاتها، حيث تناولت محتويات الباب الخامس تقييم الاستثمار في الاسهم، بينما تناولت محتويات الباب السادس تقييم الاستثمار في السندات، وهي الورقة المالية التي تأتي في المرتبة الثانية بعد الاسهم العادية في اسوقنا العربية.
ونظراً لعدم تماثل مركز حملة السندات، فقد عرض الباب السادس أيضا لترتيب جودة السندات، وهو موضوع يندر أن تناوله بتفصيل كاف المؤلفات الاجنبيةاو العربية، في الوقت الذي تبدو فيه حاجة الاسواق العربية إليه، خاصة في مرحلة نموها وتطورها، ويختتم الكتاب كله بالباب السابع الذي يتناول فرص استثمارية أخري، أي فرص للمضاربة من خلال عقود المشتقات سواء عقود الخيارات او العقود المستقبلية.
