قادنى طموحى للبدء فى سلسلة الفكر الحديث فى الهندسة المالية: مدخل إدراة المخاطر، وكان الكتاب الأول عن التوريق، أما الثانى فكان عن العقود الآجلة والعقود المستقبلية، وفى الكتاب الثالث كانت عقود الخيارات، ثم عقود المبادلة فى الكتاب الرابع، وهكذا عدت لنفس الموقف الذى واجهته منذ أكثر من عقد، كيف انتهى من عقود المشتقات قبل أن أقدم لطلاب الإدراة المالية كتاب فى أساسيات عقود المشتقات، خاصة وأن المعرفة بتلك العقوم فى دول العالم العربى موجودة، إلا أنها محدودة، ولم أتوقف كثيراً هذه المرة، بل كنت سعيداً وكان لذلك سببين: السبب الأول هو أنه قد سبق السيف العزل فقد انتهيت من الكتب الأربعة المكونة للسلسلة، أما السبب الثانى فهو أنه قد أتيحت لى الفرصة لأن أختار من تلك الكتب ما يناسب مؤلف أولى عن أساسيات عقود المشتقات، وتمشياً مع تطور عقود المشتقات فقد أشتمل الكتاب على ثلاثة أبواب: الباب الأول عن العقود الآجلة والعقود المستقبلية ويتضمن أربعة فصول، والباب الثانى عن عقود الخيارات ويتضمن ستة فصول، ثم الباب الثالث عن عقود المبادلة، ويتضمن أربعة فصول أيضاً.
