يكشف هذا الكتاب عن الكثير من أسرار التوحيد والعدل والنبوة والإمامة والولاية عند أهل الشريعة والطريقة والحقيقة ينقلها إلينا السيد "حيدر الآملي" البارع في العلوم العقلية والنقلية المقروءة عند العرب.
يعتبر مؤلف الكتاب إن غرض الأنبياء والأولياء هو إيصال الناس إلى كمال الخلق وهذا لا يتم إلا بتكميل قوتي العلم والعمل، اللذين هما: الأصول والفروع، "فوضعوا الأصول لتطهير بواطنهم وتكميل عقايدهم، والفروع لتطهير ظواهرهم وتكميل أعمالهم وأفعالهم، وأخبروا عنهما بنعمتي الظاهر والباطن بأمر الله "زأسبغ عليكم نعمه ظهرةً وباطنه" [لقمان:20]. وهذا يعني برأي الكاتب أن غرض الأنبياء طهارة الإنسان، ظاهراً وباطناً".
يأتي الكتاب في بيان الكثير من الحقائق في العلوم العقلية والنقلية ويبدأ بمقدمة في بيان الأصول الخمسة من التوحيد وهي: التوحيد، العدل، النبوة، الإمامة، والمعاد. يلي ذلك تعريف الخلافة والخليفة وبيان الولاية التكوينية له، تعريف الإمامة عند أهل الطريقة وأن الإمام هو القطب، القيامة الصغرى؟ القيامة الوسطى المعنوية؟ أبواب جهنم السبعة، مراتب الجنة والثمانية وأبوابها، أرض الحشر وعرش الفصل والقضاء وحملته، وصفوف الملائكة، في معرفة الجنة ومنازلها طوائف أهل الجنة ومقاماتهم، صورة العرش والكرسي، في الفلك الأطلس والبروج والجنات وشجرة طوبى، معرفة منزل انتقال صفات أهل السعادة إلى أهل الشقاء في الدار الآخرة (من الحضرة الموسوية)، الإمامة والعصمة، عالم الذر إلى آخر ذلك من حقائق يكشف عنها العالم الفاضل حيدر الآملي جديرة بالإطلاع...
