تواصل سلسلة "أبحاث وتجارب" إصداراتها بظهور الكتاب الثالث "المسرح في الخليج بين الواقع والمستقبل"، وهذا العنوان هو الذي ارتكزت عليه أعمال الندوة الفكرية الثالثة للمهرجان المسرحي للفرق المسرحية الأهلية في دول مجلس التعاون، التي انعقدت في أبو ظبي عام 1933. وقد طرحت هذه الندوة موضوع المسرح في الخليج بعد تردد، إذ نصت دورتان نادى كثيرون خلالها بطرح هذا الموضوع، لكنه استبعد نظراً لإشكالات متعددة.
والهدف من عقد هذه الدورة هو تقديم رؤية واقعية عملية، مستقبلية، تكشف عن المسافات التي يجب اجتيازها لاكتشاف عمق المسرح الخليجي، وكذلك كي يتم إدراك تقاطعات الصورة المسرحية مع الصورة الحياتية. ولإطلاع القارئ على مجمل أعمال هذه الندوة تم تقسيم هذا الكتاب إلى ثلاثة مسارات رئيسية: تحدث في الأول منها الدكتور "سليمان الشطي" عن المسرح الخليجي، وعن كيفية تعامل هذا المسرح مع القضايا المصرية وحريات التعبير والرقابة، أما في الثاني فعالج الدكتور "محمد حسن عبد الله" مسألة تأثير المسرح الخليجي بالتيارات المسرحية عربياً وعالمياً. أما في الثالث فتناول الدكتور إبراهيم عبد الله غلوم" الاحتمالات اللامنظورة للمسرح الخليجي وذلك من خلال فحصه لميكانيزما المسرح كوجود وكلفة /صور وكنسق.
