وإيماناً من الباحثة "إنعام محمد عيسى" على إعداد جيل مثقف أصيل، يقدر البحث العلمي ويدرك مناهجه، وضعت في أيدي الأجيال هذه الفصول، التي هي مجرد ملاحظات عامة، عسى أن تخدم الهدف الذي وضعت من أجله، ليشقوا طريقهم ويخوضوا ميادين التأليف والنشر، وبخاصة في ميادين التأليف والنشر، وبخاصة في ميادين البحوث وترتيب المصادر والمراجع وكيفية الرجوع إليها.
لقد وضعت هذا الكتاب ليكون عوناً للطالب في كتابته لتقارير أو مقالات البحوث التي يكلف بها في المرحلة الجامعية الأولى... وطلاب الدراسات العليا، خصوصاً أولئك الذين لم تتح لهم فرصة الدراسة المنهجية أو التدريب العملي الطويل على أدوات البحث ومناهجه وعلى أساليب استخدام المكتبة ومصادر المعلومات.
هذا ويحتوي الكتاب على أربعة عشر فصلاً، تطرقت في الفصل الأول منه إلى البحث وأنواعه وشرحت في الفصل الثاني الطرق المتبعة في البحث من جهة، والمخاطر التي تكتنف البحث من جهة ثانية، وبحثت في الفصل الثالث مناهج البحث، وبينت في الفصل الرابع الباحث وصفاته، وتناولت في الفصل الخامس إلى المشكلة في اختيار البحث، وأشرت في الفصل السادس إلى المكتبة والبحث، وتحدثت في الفصل السابع عن العلاقة بين الباحث والجامعة، وعرضت في الفصل الثامن كيفية كتابة البحث، وركزت في الفصل التاسع على الهامش وكيفية استخدامه، وعرفت في الفصل العاشر كيفية تبويب البحث الجامعي، ويمضي الكتاب في الفصل الحادي عشر بالتعريف بالفهارس الفنية والتطرق في الفصل الثاني عشر إلى إعداد البيبليوغرافيا وأنواعها، ثم الوصول في الفصل الثالث عشر إلى طباعة البحث ومناقشته، وختمت بالفصل الرابع عشر تناولت فيه نشر البحث والأصالة فيه كهدف رئيسي.
