هذا الكتاب فيه فكر جديد، ورأي حديث، وتطبيق بلاغي متطور، تأصيل لتراثنا البلاغي وإمتداد لآراء شيخنا أمين الخولي رحمه الله وأسكنه فسيح جناته، أخي القارئ، لو درت بعينك في المكتبة البلاغية الحديثة لن تجد باحثاً تفرغ لشاعر معروف ترك ديواناً ضخماً (14685 بيتاً) شاعر في قامة أحمد شوقي، وطبق عليه مبدأ التأصيل والتجديد من خلال فنون الوفاء بالمعنى والإيقاع، ثم من خلال الوفاء بالمعنى ثم الإيقاع، مع التجديد في مفاهيم المصطلحات البلاغية، ووضع اليد على خصائص شوقي الفنية.
الكثيرون بحثوا في شعر شوقي، ولكن من الزاوية الأدبية، وأقل القليل من اهتم بأن يطيل الوقفة البلاغية، وقد سبق بحثي هذا بحث الأستاذ الدكتور محمد الهادي الطرابلسي (المجلس الأعلى للثقافة - 1996م ط الهيئة المصرية العامة) وهو بحث أحنى له رأسي تقديراً واحتراماً، وكان منهجه بلاغياً لغوياً (من الوجهة الأسلوبية) أما منهجي هذا فبلاغي فني تراثي تجديدي، فإن كان في بحثي هذا من السلبيات ما فيه، ففيه من الإيجابيات ما يكفيه، لذا أقول هذا كتاب يجب أن يقرأ، فقد يحوز رضاك.
