يؤثر أسلوب تدريس المعلم على الطرق التى يتعامل بها الطلاب مع المعلومات أثناء عملية التعلم والتى تتوقف على تفضيل المعلم لأسلوب تعلم معين, وكذلك مدى مناسبة أسلوب التدريس لأسلوب تعلم الطلاب.
كما أن هذه المتغيرات (أسلوب التدريس- أسلوب التعلم- سمات التعلم) تتأثر بمحتوى التعلم الذى تتم من خلاله عملية التعلم, علاوة على طبيعة هذا المحتوى إذا كان ينتمى إلى العلوم الطبيعية أو الإنسانية. مما يؤثر على أساليب المعلمين فى التدريس وعلى أساليب الطلاب وفقاً لسمات المتعلمين فى ضوء محتوى التعلم.
فى إطار ما سبق جاء هذا الإصدار الذى يهدف إلى التأصيل النظرى لمفهوم أسلوب التعلم والدعوة إلى البحث فى كيف يتعلم الطلاب بدلاً من البحث فى كم تعلم الطلاب, كذلك تحديد أفضل أسلوب تدريس يعمل على رفع مستوى التحصيل الدراسى وكذا تحديد أفضل أسلوب تعلم يؤدى إلى رفع مستوى التحصيل الدراسى للطلاب. وأخيراً وليس بأخر توضيح كيف أن أسلوب التدريس وأسلوب التعلم يتأثران بمحتوى التعلم إنطلاقاً من فروض التفاعل.
