لعل الولوج إلى النص لا يمكن أن يتم إلاّ عبر مفاتيح معيّنة تقود القارئ إلى إكتناه النصّ وفكّ شفراته ومغاليقه، ومن هذه المفاتيح ما يعرف بــ (العتبات النصية)، التي تعدّ أول لقاءٍ مادي محسوسٍ بين الكاتب والمتلقي الفاعل الذي تراهن إستراتيجية الكتابة على حدثه الإبداعي، ذلك الحدس الذي يزيد من غنى تلك العتبات من خلال ما تقترحه قراءاته من إجتهادات وتأويلات وتوجيهات إيجابية تفتح الأبواب للحوارث النقدية، هذا يعني أن العتبات النصية هي من يقود المتلقي إلى مركز الإنفعال الكامن في ثنايا النص.
هذه الدراسة اختصّت بدراسة عتبة العنونة في شعر أحد أعلام الشعر العربي المعاصر، والتي جاءت على فصلين، تناول الأول منهما (بنية العنوان)، وقسّم بدوره على مبحثين، تناول الأول منهما (البنية الصوتية)، فيما تناول الآخر (البنية التركيبية).
أما الفصل الآخر فتناول بالدراسة وظائف العنوان وعلاقاته مع نصّه، وكان هو الآخر على مبحثين، اختصّ أولهما بدراسة الوظائف التي يؤديها العنوان، مقتصراً على الوظائف التي تشترك مع النص في بيان الدلالة وكشف المضامين للنص نفسه، وهي: (الإخبارية والدلالية والتأويلية)، فيما جاء المبحث الآخر مهتماً بدراسة علاقات العنوان مع النص، وهي: (الإمتدادية والإرتدادية والتجاورية).
