هذه دراسة في الأدب أحاول بها إتباع منهجٍ حديثٍ يأخذ المهتمون في مجاله بمعطيات العصر ويؤمنون بتواصل العلوم وتلاقحها في إرساء المفاهيم الفكرية للنتاج الإنساني وهو ما يقع ضمن إطار الدراسة الأسلوبية وقد اخترتُ فيها منهجاً ننشد منه التكامل في المعالجة والإستنتاج في سعينا للأخذ بخلاصة الآراء في الأسلوبية، وهي الآراء التي نتجت عن وجهات النظر المختلفة وغير المتعارضة في إكمال طريق البحث في النص الشعري ضمن إطار النظرية الأسلوبية.
وقد كان لإختيارنا المنهجي ((شعر العباس بن الأحنف)) موضوعاً لتطبيق الإجراءات الأسلوبية في التحليل ما يسوغهُ إذ أنه يتصف بجملةِ مميزات تجعله ميداناً مناسباً لمثل هذا النوع من الدراسة، فإن شعرهُ يمثل مذهباً فنياً قائماً بذاته متخذاً عناصر تشكيله في بنيته الموضوعية المميزة أولاً وما يقوم عليه من تشكيلات فنية تخضع لنظام العرف الأدبي أو تقوم على إبتداع ما يخصها من معطياته ثانياً، فهو شعرٌ يمثل الإنتاج الفني الذاتي غير المتأني عن رغبة ولا رهبة، مما يجعله أكثر دخولاً في إطار التعبير الوجداني، أو ما ينتج عن المشاعر الإنسانية، منه في موضوع المحاباة والتقرب إلى الآخرين بدافع المصلحة المادية مما شاع في عصره وغير عصره عند الشعراء.
وعلى كل حال فإن كشفنا عن مميزات هذا النوع الشعري يعني إضاءة جانب مهم من جوانب الإبداع الفني الإنساني في أدبنا العربي.
