في هذا الكتاب نحاول تسليط الضوء على فترة تاريخية عايشتها القطيف، وعُرفت بالفترة الجاهلية (ما قبل الإسلام)، ونتيجة لعُرف ثقافي سلبي نشأ عليه العالم العربي منذ الفترة الإسلامية المبكرة، وثقافة غير جاذبة لمعرفة الفترة الجاهلية حيث كان المجتمع الإسلامي ينظر إلى الإخباري الذي ينقل أخبار الجاهلية نظرة سيئة وإزدراء حيث إشتغاله بأخبار الجاهلية وما تشوبها من إسرائيليات ونصرانيات، وهذا ما رمي به (ابن الكلبي) ونظر إليه نظرة إزدراء لكونه من رواة أخبار الجاهلية.
لهذا غابت عنا الكثير من المعلومات التاريخية لتلك المرحلة، وفي هذا الكتاب حاولنا رسم صورة لتلك الأيام الخوالي لردم الهوة التاريخية المفقودة لتاريخ قطيفنا.
