"القوات اللبنانية" في مواجهة التاريخ وليست ضده حتماً، إرتضت بملء إرادتها أن تقف أمامه، وتحاسب على سجل أخطائها وإنجازاتها. مهما كان الحكم صارماً. فهي إعتادت أن تتهم وتستنزف وتحاكم وتسجن. لتعود من الظلام والظلمة، بريئة، لا تهدأ ولا تستكين، في وثبة دائمة إلى الحرية. لكن الغاية ليست الوقائع التاريخية التي سردتها عشرات الكتب، بل قراءة فكرها السياسي منذ نشأتها وهي مستمرة.
وإذا توغلنا أكثر سيدلنا التاريخ حتماً إلى نضوج هذا الفكر، غير المتنكر لجذوره. الا أنه أصبح أكثر تجدداً ومسؤولية وانفتاحاً على الشركاء في الوطن الواحد، غايته بناء دولة العدالة والديمقراطية والقانون في مجتمع متعدد، بل مبدع في تعدديته.
"القوات" ليست وليدة أزمة تزول بزوالها، لأنها إنبعثت من جوهر لبنان وتتحدر من زمن الأجداد المسيحيين الذين كانوا سبَاقين في إنماء هذه البقعة من العالم. تراثها عميق، جذورها مغروسة في تربة العطاء والتضحية ورصيدها مئات الشهداء والجرحى.
"القوات اللبنانية"، رائدة الوجود النضالي الفعلي والمنظم للروح السيادية اللبنانية، ونتيجة حتمية لوجود تاريخ هذه الأرض المحفوف دائماً بالأخطار.
