كتب أحد الكتاب المعاصرين عن وادي قاديشا "كأن الخالق أوحى للموارنة أن يلجأوا إلى هذا الوادي البعيد الغارق في السكينة، وكأنه قال لهم: تعالوا أيها المتعبون وأنا أريحكم"، فحطوا رحالهم في الصخور المسنونة كالرماح وفي المغاور والكهوف وأشعلوا البخور تسبيحاً وتمجيداً ونثروا إلى يدتهم ومحابسهم بين الصخور إكراماً للعلي الذي أنقذهم من جور الاضطهاد.
وكتب الصحافي وسام أبو حرفوش عندما زار الوادي "في حضرة الوادي المقدس الجغرافيا ليست مجرد تضاريس والتاريخ أكثر من فجة للماضي" فقنبوبين السادة جعلت من المكان علية أسرار في حجم المدى". هكذا بدا الوادي الغارق في السكينة على تخومه تنهض الصخور المسنونة كالرماح، وفي كنفه يرتدي التاريخ شكل أديرة ومغاور وكهوف سكنها نسور وقديسون ولا يدرك الإنسان ابن هذه الأرض، وقائع تاريخية، وقد يعجز عن ربط حلقاتها، إلا إذا حثه ولع التحري عن كل أثر أرس في هذه الجغرافيا دلالة ومعلومة.
ومؤلف هذا الكتاب واحد من أبناء هذه الأرض الغنية بالحضارات، وحبه لهذه المنطقة دفعه لأن يسرح بقلمه فيها متوغلاً في ماضيها، ومتفحصاً معالمه الباقية والمتشبثة بالصخر، تتضرع إلى الله كي يحميها في القسم الأول تحدث عن الشعوب التي مرت على الوادي وحفرت في التاريخ والصخر زيارتها له، أما القسم الثاني فخصصه لدراسة بعض المواقع الأثرية التي وجدت بالوادي وصحوت أمام الغزوات والحروب ولهزات الطبيعة. ولمساعدة القارئ على التركيز على ما تم سرده جمع المؤلف إلى نصوص كتابه العديد من الصور الفوتوغرافية التي ربما تكون خير دليل على أهمية كنوز الوادي وعلى تاريخه وتاريخ الموارنة الذين عاشوا ويعيشون فيه.
