وقد حاول مؤلف الكتاب خلال عقد من الزمن تتبّع أحداث أبو ظبي السياسية والإقتصادية والإجتماعية والثقافية ورصدها بشكل موضوعي ، فبذل جهده في سبيل إعطاء صورة حقيقية للحياة في أبو ظبي ، متتبعاً أخبارها في مراكز الوثائق والمكتبات وأرشيفات الصحف والمجلات ، وأرشيفات الصحف والمجلات ، وملتقياً بشخصيات كانت شاهد عيان على التطورات التي ألمّت بأبو ظبي .
ولعل لقاء المؤلف بجيل الروّاد للإستفادة من مخزون ذاكرتهم كان معيناً ورافداً مهماً أضفى على الكتاب واقعية ، وألقى الضوء على كثير من الأمور التي لم يُتطرق إليها سابقاً .
يهدف كتابنا هذا إلى المساهمة في بناء الذاكرة الحيّة لتلك الفترة من تاريخ أبو ظبي ، بطموحاتها وأحلامها وإنجازاتها ، وأن يرسم لجيل اليوم جزءاً من ماضيه الجميل الذي عايش مؤلفه بعض أحداثه .
