من طريق الإطلاع على مكتبة المناهج وطرائق التدريس وجدنا قصوراً واضحاً في توافر الكتب المتخصصة في إتجاهات تدريس اللغة العربية، لا سيما المكتبة العراقية المحلية، لذا حاولنا جاهدين أن نضع بذرة في الكتاب العراقي تتناول الإتجاهات الحديثة في طرائق تدريس اللغة العربية، عسى ان تفتح النوافذ لنا وللباحثين الآخرين، ونستطيع أن نخدم لغة القرآن الكريم.
يتناول هذا الكتاب في جزئه الأول المتكون من تسعة فصول متنوعة، ما يأتي: الفصلين الأول والثاني تناولنا بهما توضيحاً عن علم اللغة بنحو علم، ومنه إلى علم اللغة العربية، وبعدها علوم النحو والأدب والتعبير، لتكون البذرة الأولى لهذا المشروع الذي نأمل به الإستمرار بمشيئة الله سبحانه وتعالى.
أما الفصول الثالث والرابع والخامس والسادس، فقد تناولنا فيها محاولة التفريق بين المصطلحات الرئيسة المتداولة في عالم التدريس، التعلم والتعليم والتدريس والتدريب، ثم البيداغوجيا والديداكتيك، ثم الإستراتيجية والبرنامج والطريقة والأنموذج والأسلوب، ثم التحصيل والإكتساب والتنمية.
وحاولنا بما نمتلك من خبرات عمل مقارنات لتوضيح نقاط التشابه والإختلاف بين هذه المصطلحات التي طالما يستعملها الباحثون كمرادف بعضها بعض.
وفي الفصول السابع والثامن والتاسع تناولنا أهم الإتجاهات الحديثة التي تناولها الباحثون في دراساتهم في اللغة العربية، وبالتحديد في النحو والأدب والتعبير.
