تتطور الأحداث في سوريا بعد إتمام الثورة شهرها الثلاثين عقب إندلاعها في ربيع الثاني 1432هـ / مارس 2011م، ويظهر للمراقب مدى تغير مفهوم التدخل الإنساني الذي قدمت مسارات تحليلاً تفصيلياً له منذ ظهوره وحتى تطور مفهومه على ضوء مبادئ مسؤولية الحماية وتطبيقها في ليبيا 1432هـ / 2011م ومالي 1434هـ / 2013م (عدد مايو 2013).
تُركت مبادئ الحماية جانباً بعد التردد الدولي في كيفية التصرف حيال ما يجري في سوريا بعد قصف النظام الغوطة بالأسلحة الكيميائية، هذا التردد بين أهمية إعادة النظر في مبدأ التدخل الإنساني وإعادة التقويم لفاعليته وجدية المجتمع الدولي أيضاً في خوض حرب جديدة في الشرق الأوسط، ففي حين لم يفشل الغرب كلياً في الحشد الدولي لضرب النظام السوري، لكنه وجد مخرجاً من حرج المساءلة عن مدى إلتزام الولايات المتحدة بحماية المدنيين في الخارج حين استطاعت روسيا المجيء بحل مؤقت يجبر الغرب على إلتزام الدبلوماسية السياسية، وينقذ النظام السوري من ضربة مرتقبة في حال سلمت الأخيرة ترسانتها الكيميائية.
لذلك تقدم مسارات في هذا العدد دراسة لطبيعة الأحداث السورية التي تظهر مدى عجز المجتمع الدولي عن إيقاف المجازر على مدى 3 سنوات.
