بدأت رحلتي مع الطعام منذ نعومة أظفاري، حيث كنت شغوفاً بالطعام أجد فيه لذة كما يجد من يهوى كرة القدم لذة في اللعب بالكرة في ساحات الملاعب. ونمى هذا الشغف معي من التعود على ارتياد المطاعم البسيطة التي كانت موجودة في إمارة دبي في بداية السبعينيات الى ارتياد المطاعم العالمية متلمسا طريقي في كواليس المطاعم مستكشفاً أسرارها مترقياً في درجاتها. ومع الوقت تطورت ذائقتي ربما بسبب الخبرة أو بسبب التردد على مطاعم عديدة في بلدان مختلفة، الأمر الذي أكسبني خبرة في معرفة المطاعم وأنواع الطعام وطرق التقديم وما يجب تجنبه، فأحببت أن أنقل هذه التجربة إلى القراء في الدول العربية، حيث تفتقد مثل هذا النوع من الثقافة عسى أن أكون بذلك قد أسديت خدمةً ولو يسيرةً لعالم محبى الطعام وذواقته؛ ذلك العالم الذى أنتمى إليه.
