لا ريب أننا نحب الحياة، ليس لأننا تعودنا الحياة؟ ففي الحياة شيء من الجنون، ولكنه الجنون العاقل؛ وفي هذا الجنون حكمة، لهذا نتوق إليها؛ إن الله تعالى الذي نؤمن به يحيينا ويميتنا، إن الله تعالى يريدنا أن نعطي لكل إنسان حقه، أما من يقيم الحاجز بينه وبين ربه، فهو المخلوق الذي نعتبره مريضاً في عقله ونفسه، لأن الشر باغته، فعذبه، وهو بدوره يريد أن يبتلي غيره بما ابتلي به.
ومن جملة ما يعذب الإنسان في حياته - الخجل والتشاؤم... غير أن الحكمة الإلهية أرادتنا شجعاناً أقوياء أشداء، وإرادتنا أن لا نعتبر الحياة وقراً ثقيلاً، وإلا كنا في خورنا أذلاء مستكينين، نستطيع أن نحلّق ونحوم، ونصبر على المكاره!.
الحكمة الإلهية أرادتنا أن نرتقي المرتفع المشرف بلا فزع، وبذلك لا نغور في الأوهام فتتلاشى ثقتنا بأنفسنا ونحرم ثقة الناس، لا ينبغي أن يخجلنا سلوك، أو تنهدج أنفاسنا من التشاؤم، هذا إذا كنا ننطق بالحق، ونتحرك في نطاق الحق، فالخجل هو الهياب المحجم الذي خابت سريرته من القوة والشجاعة! والمتشائم هو المتحمل هموم الدنيا، المنذر بالشر والزوال، المتهرب من الإيمان!.
