هذا الكتاب "لعنة الخليج" هو الكتاب الثامن في سلسلة "نافذة على المعرفة" للكاتب "مصطفى جحا"، كتبه في مرحلة عصيبة من تاريخ هذه الأمة، كتبه وهو يتوجس في نفسه خيفة من العربي على العربي، مثلما على الضعيف من القوي، وعلى العالم من الجاهل. فرفض أن يكون محايداً، فوقف بقلمه إلى جانب الحق، في حرب وقعت بين جارين عربين شقيقين أو متجاورين، غزو العراق للكويت أو ما سمي "عاصفة الصحراء". لقد أثار هذا الهجوم الصدامي المرجح إلى الكويت، أثار، في غير عاصمة ومدينة، الغرائز القومية والمذهبية والطبقية، حتى أن فئات عديدة، عربية وإسلامية، هتفت بإسم الرئيس العراقي ودعت إلى تأييده ودعمه، بل إلى "الجهاد" معه، إذا حسبته نبياً عربياً جديداً، بعث ليجمع الشمل العربي والإسلامي. فهل كان صدام حسين فاتحاً بالفعل أم أن فن الإعلام الإسرائيلي واللأميركي هو الذي هيجه ورغبه في النزوع إلى الحرب والتوسع، وخصوصاً عندما صنف الجيش العراقي على أنه رابع الجيوش العالمية الكبرى، فإنطلت هذه الحيلة على صاحب العراق، فذهب للغزو، وماذا كانت النتيجة، كل هذه الأحداث وما سبقها من قمم ومؤتمرات سبقت الغزو العراقي للكويت أضاء عليها الكاتب بموضوعية وصدق، فأثمر عملاً جاداً موثقاً بمنهجية الباحث الناقد الذي يتوخى الحقيقة، الأمر الذي جعله يقسم الكتاب إلى أربعة أقسام هي التالية: القسم الأول: جاء بعنوان إحذروا القمم والنكبات. القسم الثاني: من العاصفة إلى العاصفة، أي من الغزو العراقي للكويت إلى "عاصفة الصحراء". القسم الثالث: "القيصر" آت. القسم الرابع: نصوص ووثائق، متضمن آراء وأقوال وتعليقات صرّح بها، خلال الفترة الممتدة بين الغزو والهزيمة، ملوك ورؤساء ومحللون شرقيون وغربيون ساعدت الكاتب على تبسيط الكتابة الإستقرائية التي إعتمدها في كتابه الجدير بالقراءة "لعنة الخليج".
