يهتم بالحالة الصحية والغذائية لنباتات المحاصيل الزراعية المختلفة مثل محاصيل الحقل، الخضروات وأشجار الفاكهة.. حيث أن مردود ذلك يتمثل في المحصول النهائي والمنتج الأساسي، الذي من أجله زرع النبات وحتي يصل هذا المنتج إلي المستهلك بالصورة التي ترضي ذوقه.
ويشتمل الكتاب على عدة أبواب؛ يختص الباب الأول بالعناصر الضرورية وتقدير الحالة الغذائية للنباتات، أنواع الأسمدة وطرق إضافتها، العناصر الغذائية ودورها، وأعراض نقصها موضحة بصورة ملونة، وكيفية تصحيح هذا النقص. كما يهتم الباب الثاني بخطوط جمع وإعداد العينات للتحليل، حيث يشتمل على طرق تحليل النباتات، وكيفية أخذ العينة وإختيارها وحجمها وعدد النباتات الممثلة، والوقت الأمثل لأخذ العينة، وكيفية تداولها.
ويشرح الباب الثالث طرق الترميد، استخدام وضبط الأجهزة، طرق الهضم والتحليل، أساسيات المختبر الجيد، وأسس تفسير النتائج وطريقة لشرح التحليل باستعمال اللهب، أما الباب الرابع فيختص بطرق تقدير العناصر الكبرى بالانسجة النباتية، في حين يهتم الباب الخامس بشرح طرق تقدير العناصر الصغرى.
ويشمل الباب السادس الملحقات المتعلقة بوسائل الأمان، تركيزات المحاليل (الأدلة)، وقواعد عامة عن ذائبية المواد، جداول الوزن الذري، المحاليل القياسية للعناصر المعدنية المختلفة وغيرها من المعلومات المتعلقة بأصول التحليل الكيميائي للأنسجة النباتية، كما يشتمل الكتاب على العديد من المراجع العربية والأجنبية التي يمكن الرجوع إليها في هذا المجال.
