بالتصميم والإرادة والإيمان بتعاليم الله، عز وجل، يستطيع المرء أن يخلص لشريك حياته، ويبقى وفياً له مدى العمر، ولكن من يجرؤ على القول إنه يستطيع أن يمنع الحب من ملامسة قلبه بأنامل سحرية في غفلة من الزمن، واختطاف روحه إلى أعالي المساوات من دون إرادة منها! فكما لعقارب الساعة أن تدور أو تتوقف عن الدوران وليس لها أن تؤخر طلوع الشمس أو تقدم هبوط الظلام، كذلك هو الإنسان، فإنه يستطيع أن يضحك ويبكي، أن يفرح ويحزن، يسعى ويحاول، لكنه لا يستطيع أبداً أن يمحو حرفاً مما كتب له.
لقد كان كميل يأمر عشرات الرجال بكلمة من فمه أو إشارة من اصبعه، فرمى القدر على طريقه من سحره بنظرة وابتسامة، وجعله بين صوت عقله ونداء قلبه، بين تمسكه بعائلته وانجذابه نحو تلك المرأة الملتزمة ببيتها، ورقة خريف غير قادرة على الصمود على غصنها ولا الريح قادرة على انتزاعها منها.
الحب الذي جمع قلبي كميل وناديا بقي حباً عفيفاً، يصارع ويغالب يتلقى السهام وينزف. ترى، عند أي حد سيتوقف القدر عن لعبته المؤذية؟
