يضمّ هذا الكتاب الوقائع الكاملة لثلاث حلقات نقاشية، عقدها مركز دراسات الوحدة العربية، حول أوضاع الثورة والحراك الاجتماعي في تونس ومصر والمغرب وسورية.
وقد تناولت الحلقة الأولى ثورة ناجزة هي الثورة المصرية (مع إشارات إلى الثورة الأم: التونسية)؛ وتناولت الحلقة الثانية الإصلاحات الدستورية في المغرب؛ فيما تناولت الحلقة الثالثة أحداث المظاهرات الشعبية العارمة في سورية وآفاق الوضع في أرجائها.
وموضوعات هذه الحلقات الثلاث على قدر كبير من الأهمية لجهة تبايُنها؛ وليس مأتى الأهمية والتباين من أن تونس ومصر شهدتا ثورتين ناجحتين (على الأقل لجهة إسقاط النظام في كلا البلدين)، وهو ما لم يحصل في المغرب، ولم ينطبق على سورية، بل مأتاها من أن هذه الحالات الثلاث حالات تمثيلية لما يمكن أن تنتهي إليه معركة التغيير الديمقراطي في الوطن العربي بأيدي أبنائه، لا بأيدي الأجانب و "مساعدتهم": حالة الثورة التي تغيّر معادلة السلطة وعلاقاتها بشكل حاسم مستفيدةً من ميزان قوةٍ داخلي لصالحها (= تونس، مصر)؛ وحالة تغيير يقع من طريق توافقٍ بين النظام والمعارضة (=المغرب)؛ ثم حالة تغييرٍ يصطدم بفقدانه ميزان القوى الداخلي المناسب، ويصطدم بامتناع ميلاد توافقٍ بين النظام والمعارضة (= سورية). وقد لا تخرج الانتفاضات القائمة أو القادمة، عن هذه المشاهد الثلاثة إن استبعدنا مشهد التدخل الأجنبي.
