إننا نعيش عصراً زاخراً بأفكار ورؤى وعقائد وانتماءات مختلفة متباينة لا تجمعها من الأغلب كلمة جامعة، لأن كل تيار وانتماء فكري في مختلف ساعات وصور الحياة وينبع من مصدر معرفي وجهاز خاصين. ولكن ما يجب على المعلم الديني بالذات هو اطلاعه على ما يسود العالم من انتماءات واتجاهات فكرية ثقافية وراءها تيارات متعددة تختلف نواياها وآلياتها في تحقيق أهدافها. ومن الواضح أن من لا يلم بالواقع الذي يعيش فيه بكل ما يحتويه هذا الواقع من اتجاهات، سوف تخدعه اللوابس والشبهات ولن يقدر على تربية طالب متدرب على الواقع، يتعاطى الحياة على أساس مقتضياتها، ويتحرك في المسارات ملئ بخباياها وزواياها. وفي مثل هذه الحالة تفشل الدعوة،لأنها عملية يتصل مدى نجاحها بنوعية الانطلاق وانسجام الحركة فيها مع واقع الصعيد الذي تطلق فيه، وهذا كله يعود إلى قدرات وطاقات الدعاة في تفهم الحياة والبيئة، وكذلك الخوف في عمق المبادئ والأصول. إن الطالب المسلم لنا ينجح في انطلاقته الرسالية وحركته الدعوية في مستقبل حياته عالم يتلق من معلمه في فترة الدراسة ثقافة إسلامية عميقة وأصيلة من جهة، وقدرة على تحليل الواقع والتعامل معه على نمط يتناغم مع متطلبات العصر من جهة أخرى.
ومن ثم تتقدم لائحة واجبات المعلّم وسمات التعليم الإسلامي في هذا العصر، بل في جميع العصور، مسؤولية بناء جسور متينة علمية وموضوعية ما بين الطالب المتعلم والبيئة المشحونة بالانتماءات العقيدية والتجاذبات الفكرية. ومن المؤسف أن التعليم الإسلامي في المعاهد والمدارس الدينية لا يتسم بالسمات والمواصفات التي لا بدّ منها لكل من يريد التحرك في المجتمع،
